I’m not sure if you heard, but last weekend, on April 21st, the “Rapture” was supposed to occur. Judgment Day. The end of modern times. On the same day, I received another prophetic, though slightly less dooms-day-ish email. It read, “Your wedding is in 5 months.” As I’m sitting here typing today, I guess I should continue planning. Whew. Five months is a pretty tangible time frame. We’re getting to the “You better be getting thing done,” phase. Fortunately, we’re looking pretty good. We have menswear and stationary left in the big picture, and the rest is in the details. Things like table décor to go with the flowers, making wedding favors, and organizing seating charts are what I have left to tackle. The final walk through on our reception site construction is scheduled for next week. I actually feel pretty calm about how the progress of things are going
Most of my stress comes from the fact that I’m not stressed about wedding planning, and it seems like maybe I should be. Shouldn’t I be sweating the details? Shouldn’t I be worried about what color napkins to use and herding all our groomsmen to the same place to get fitted for the same suit? I’m just… not. Well. I wasn’t. Until I heard the latest update on the end of mankind as we know it. The Rapture has been rescheduled from its original broadcasted time to the EXACT day of our wedding. And really, I can still only reply: What better way to celebrate than with the man I want to spend the rest of my time here on earth while surrounded by family and friends?
