My neighbor has a huge Meyer lemon tree that is heavy with the most beautiful lemons you have ever laid your eyes on. She tells me to just reach over the fence and help myself to as many of the sunshiny beauties as I want. And I do, often. Meyer Lemon Bars, fresh lemonade and other delicious lemony treats make me happy during the dreary winter months. Which got me thinking about a wonderful wedding theme, Limoncello!

For the uninitiated, Limoncello is a simple liqueur made from vodka and lemon peels and sugar. You drink it ice cold as a “digestivo” after dinner and with friends. Here is a traditional recipe for Limoncello.
My Sicilian Nani would approve! But you do not need to hail from the Amalfi coast to infuse Limoncello into your wedding. I think it makes a great and versatile theme from anyone with access to an abundance of lemons in the winter months leading up to their wedding.
